However, reports suggest that 10 Police Officer’s and 4 Pakistan Army soldiers died so far in clashes. Also seems true is that a relatively junior Army officer had taken an Addl IG of Sindh Police (Lt Gen equivalent rank) into custody. A shopping mall belonging to brother in law of Pak Army Chief has been set on fire and looted by angry mob in Karachi after Army opened fire on Sindh Police. IG Sindh, DIG HQ, CCPO Karachi, all 8 DIGs of Karachi, 5 DIGs in interior Sindh – all going on leave. Reports also confirm that all Police Stations are deserted !

Sindh govt has been overthrown by Rawalpindi Army HQ. Pak army open fired on Sindh police officers. The local police of Sindh has activated its special secret wing to act against Pak national army. Angry mobs have attacked Chinese embassy in Karachi. Malls set on fire. Even the Sindh regiments soldiers in Pak Army are vacating their positions from LoC. Its Sindh police against Pak Army this time. (As if Balochistan and PoK were not enough). Now US Carrier Battle Group is stationed right next to Karachi coast, so anything can happen in next 24 hours.
Pakistan’s army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa ordered an inquiry into the alleged abduction of Sindh police chief to force him to order the arrest of the exiled former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s son-in-law from his hotel room in Karachi.
The probe, ordered by the country’s army chief came after local politicians alleged that Sindh province’s top police official, Mushtaq Ahmed Mahar, had been abducted on Monday by paramilitary troops, who coerced him into signing an order to arrest an opposition leader, as per a Reuters report.
